Welcome Home
Creating a space to welcome others
with love and intention.

The idea of hospitality can be an overwhelming concept for some, myself included. We often picture a perfectly clean and styled home, beautifully prepared food and an outgoing and gracious host who is prepared for every possible need of their guests, whether two or twenty.

This idea of Sabbath, or intentional rest, is a practice of trusting God to fully to meet our needs and to not lean on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). It’s a chance to slow down, breathe, intentionally focus on the important basics, then move into our new week out of that place of Sabbath instead of collapsing at the end of it.

One of the top tenants of hygge that people think about is comfort. Soft blankets, candles, and wool sweaters. This idea of comfort is something that we long for, especially in the harshness of winter.

Candles are a core essential of hygge lifestyle- the soft, natural source of light creates a place of simplicity and warmth. Soft textures such as cozy blankets, comfortable seating and encouraging, simple decor offers a home that feels inviting. Pleasant smells such as freshly baked bread, coffee or your favorite scent reminds others of feelings of love and comfort.
